Magazine: 'Palm Angels S/S 2020'

A much-talked-about coffee table book, featuring black-and-white photography of the Los Angeles skateboarding scene. This is the foundation of the popular fashion brand Palm Angels. The book was published in 2014 and featured a foreword written by Pharrel Williams and resulted in a ready-to-wear collection for fall/winter 2015.

Francesco Ragazzi creative director of Palm Angels is inspired by the LA skateboarding scene and draws inspiration from both the scene and his Italian heritage. It’s not the stereotypical Italian brand or the typical American brand. He tries to reinterpret these cultures in his own way. Palm Angels has developed a foothold in the industry in only a matter of seasons and is favored by many hip-hop artists and NBA players. Nowadays the line between luxury brands and streetwear brands no longer exists. He was one of the pioneering agents of this change, starting from his early days at Moncler where he was working with hip-hop stars such as Pharrel. This was long before they were embraced by other more traditional brands.

Fun is an important part of Palm Angels, the carefree Californian attitude combined with the Cali-vibe palm trees printed on his items is what makes the brand. You could say that Palm Angels is not just a brand but also a lifestyle.
